You seem to constantly evolve, both physically and as a performer. Is that intentional?
I’ve been trying to find my place in this industry, so I went in many directions. With my body I would gain weight and muscle, or tone down. Short hair, or longer hair? I tried to find out what works for me. Now I think I’ve finally come to a place where I’m happy with the way I look without trying to impress other people. The competition is strong, and a new batch of people come along every day. I decided to just be myself and the rest will follow.

Of your body of work, which scenes, movies, and co-stars stand out?
I loved the scene with Matthew Rush in The Velvet Mafia. We had a strong connection, and humor got us through the rest of it. There was a scene I did with Trevor Knight in Bed Heads that was really intense. I was rock-hard through the entire scene. It was fucking hot!

Yes it was! You’ve also been honing your skills as a writer on your blog [JasonRidge.BlogSpot.com]. Any interest in writing about your experiences in the biz? It’d be one hell of a book.
I would love the opportunity to one day share my experiences in the adult world. I would love to write a book about the scandals and hot sex, but also include the human side of my life and how the industry has impacted me.

OK, chapter one: What was your first shoot like?
I was very scared, but I got through it with no problems. There may have been things I would have done differently, but I was young and foolish back then and didn’t know a goddamn thing. But I’m wiser now.

Many films later, is it still exciting? Do you still get nervous on the set?
I love doing movies, and yes, every time I’m in front of the camera I still get nervous. But I am always very excited to do a movie. I hope I have many more years in the industry, but as I get older I want to be behind the scenes, eventually directing. Yes, everyone these days is saying the same thing. But I am getting an itch to do something like that. You have to be smart and focused, and stay off drugs, to achieve career longevity.

You do have a keen focus on-camera. Maybe that’s why so many directors pair you with first timers.
I don’t mind working with newcomers. All the studios seem to place me with them or the gay-for-pay guys that some models refuse to work with.

You’ve done a wide range of flicks—vanilla, romantic, dirty, sex pig, etc. What’s your preference?
I’m an all-around vanilla guy with a romantic side. As for kink, I’ve never really gotten into that. No studios have ever approached me to see what kind of wild side I have. They all seem to love my one-on-one action. But who knows? Maybe in the future I’ll get some kink.

Do you get strange requests from fans?
My fans always seem to want me to star with the Raging Stallion or /|\ 1 T 4 ]\[ guys, like François Sagat, Huessein, etc. And trust me, I’m all for that. Maybe a little of K0|_t’s Adam Dexter, too. Oh, and they all want my underwear, for some reason.

But nothing comes between you and your Calvins. Are you single?
No. I’m currently dating someone, and I am trying to keep it as private as possible. I have tried to date a few people in the industry, but it never seems to work out. You know.

What type of men do you like?
I love all types of men, from hairy guys to smooth, lean guys. I have crushes
on Johnny Depp and George Clooney. Always have, and probably always will.

Is there anything you would never do on-camera?
I wouldn’t get fisted, and no water sports. I’m very pee-shy!

More so now than ever. But I’m an exhibitionist on an emotional level as well as a sexual one.

Interesting. I understand you’ve been studying Kabbalah. How has that changed you?
I’ve been studying for the last four years. It has made me become a better person, taught me not to be so negative, and to be more aware of my surroundings.

Does your family know about your films?
My family and friends do know, and they love and support me unconditionally. When I leave [a set] or an event, I leave that persona and my work behind.

You’re a sex symbol to throngs of men. Do you ever look in the mirror and think, Oh, hell, no?
All the time! I think about what I can improve, but I never dwell on it. Sometimes the industry sees things differently, but that’s OK. This is who I am.

When you look back on your career so far, is there anything you’d have done differently?
I would come into it more aware of my environment. I would be better prepared for the ups and downs, and always remember: Don’t take things personally.

Braden: I was doing some modeling for a photographer in Maine. He gave me the name and I contacted Randy. He flew me down and I did my first solo with him and I’ve been working with him ever since.

JUB: Have you done any video work previously?
Chris: No never.
Braden: I did a Sharpshooters Manforce video. But that was more like packing boxes naked and then you did a jackoff scene at the end. It was more like comedy porn.

JUB: Do you identify with being straight or bi or are you just opposed to labels?
Braden: Well I’m straight but I don’t label people. If you’re happy doing what you are doing and you know who you are, I don’t think you need to tell everyone.
Chris: Straight. But it’s weird when people ask me. I never looked at sexuality in that way though. I guess that’s why I’m cool with it. People do what they want to do. If it’s good for you then that’s what you should be doing. I prefer ladies though.

JUB: What was your first experience on set like?
Chris: Good. I wasn’t nervous or anything. It was a jerkoff. Randy was there. He is just so cool and laid back that it just makes everything so easy.
Braden: I was more nervous when I was thinking about it. The first scene when I was getting blown by Reese, I had never had that happen before but when I got there my mindset was more about making the video look good. And Reese is really cool so it wasn’t as nerve racking as I thought it would be.

JUB: What drew you to doing gay porn?
Braden: Well obviously the money, but you get to meet people that are like you and you can share stories about lifting and bodybuilding and lifestyle. The people I work with at Randy are really good.
Chris: I just don’t have a lot of shame and inhibitions. And the income is quite nice. It was really a business decision for me. Obviously, there is not a lot of work you have to put into it.

JUB: Do your straight friends know about your work in the industry?
Chris: Pretty much everyone in my hometown knows. They all found out on the same day. Somebody saw something on YouTube or Myspace and they emailed it to everybody they knew. And, this was a girl I haven’t even seen since high school. In one day I had five of my closest friends all call me within four hours.
Braden: They found out in October. It took them a while. I was doing it a little over a year and then all of a sudden someone saw it and posted it on myspace. Within hours my whole town of 8,000 people knew. I live in a really small town so I just moved two hours away with my brother and a few friends.

JUB :What is the hardest part about being straight in the gay adult industry?
Chris: I haven’t really seen anything like that. Other than the obvious when something is new. There is just that hurdle when something is new and I haven’t done this before. It’s just a psychological hurdle. It just comes down to being able to perform.
Braden: I don’t know if there’s anything. It’s not like I enjoy doing it, but I do because I work with people I know who are like me. I don’t really know if it’s that difficult a job.

JUB: What is the most rewarding thing about working in the industry?
Braden: Meeting people. Building friendships. Coming out to LA when I normally wouldn’t have a chance to. It pays well. I get to go to different club events and have fun. It’s done a lot for my life. Made it easier. I don’t have to work a 40 hour job and can train and work on my bodybuilding and stuff.
Chris: The money’s good. I actually don’t know that much about the industry besides Randy Blue.

JUB: What goes through your mind when you are shooting a scene?
Chris: I’m pretty much thinking about making it look as hot as possible and keeping myself in the frame of mind where I can perform and everything just goes smoothly.
Braden: I just try to focus on making it look as real and as good as I can.

JUB: What are your plans for the future?
Chris :I will continue to work for Randy. I don’t know how long.
Braden: I just plan to continue with Randy as long as he wants me aboard on his site.
